* | To download GPS engine firmware updates, refer to the Product Documentation section of the Raven Customer Portal. |
** | In order to use Slingshot RTK corrections, you must have an RTK capable GPS receiver, a Slingshot Field Hub, and either of the following:
- SmarTrax RTK (Hydraulic)
- SmarTrax RTK node (P/N 063-0173-228)
- High accuracy hydraulic valve (P/Ns 334-0003-088, -089, -090)
- SmarTrax MD
- SmarTrax MD node (P/N 063-4001-013)
Also, adhere to the Slingshot RTK guidelines seen below. |

What are Pass-to-Pass and Repeatability?
Pass-to-Pass refers to the accuracy within a specific job. It is the accuracy within a 15 minute window that covers the passes or swaths made back and forth through the field.
Repeatability, or sometimes called
Static Accuracy or
Year-to-Year Accuracy, refers to the accuracy seen a week, a month, or a year later. It determines how accurately boundaries, zones, and guidance lines will be located compared to when they were first created in a job. In other words, it represents how
repeatable those scouting features will be for use at a later date.
Things that Can Affect GPS
Solar Storms
High solar activity can affect the Earth's atmosphere, which in turn affects the signal from GPS satellites.
Positioning of the Satellite Constellations (HDOP)
High dilution of precision, or HDOP, refers to the positioning of the satellites above you. With an HDOP of normal levels (less than 2.5), the satellite constellation will be more evenly spread out. High HDOP levels (above 2.5) result from the satellites being very close together, which can cause issues with your positioning.
Location
Trees, buildings, and anything else that can block the antenna's view of the sky will affect GPS signal.
Factors Specific to Slingshot RTK
Distance from the Base Station
Slingshot RTK Base Stations have an ideal radius of 30 miles (48 km), but may provide signal well beyond that range. However, signal strength is not guaranteed for accurate RTK corrections beyond that 30 mile (48 km) radius.
The tables below show the accuracy ranges (in inches and in centimeters) within the 30 mile (48 km) range.
Operating Speeds
Accuracy can only be guaranteed for the following operating speeds:
- SmarTrax RTK (Hydraulic)
- SmarTrax MD
